Who Inspired us: Ângela Cardoso

30 of August of 2021

She says that the phrase that best describes her is "Today I'm not very catholic", but for us it's "What is National is good", since she has been living outside Portugal for 13 years and making our culture known. Today we present Ângela, a lover of the world and the cultural diversity that exists in it.

Talking about Ângela is talking about the importance of the collective, where she shows us daily the importance of people working together, emphasizing the whole instead of focusing on the leader.

In every company she goes through she leaves her seed and plants a tree together with the team of that company, as something that is sown in a team the company will have to continue.

"I am, because we are" is the motto she brings with her.

MORE THAN A TRADITION, AN INSPIRATION
Who inspires you and why? I am inspired by people who are brave enough to face challenges, persistent and fun, because these are essential traits to be at ease with life.
Where do you get your inspiration from? Fine Arts, especially visual, plastic and performance arts.

How do you inspire others?  This one gives a lot to think about (laughs). I don't know if it counts as

inspiration, but I think the people closest to me see me as someone who is open-minded
open-minded and curious about the world.

IT IS A PORTUGUESE HOUSE, FOR SURE
5 words that describe Portugal/ Portuguese

NOT EVEN TO THE WALLS I CONFESS

A message for whoever is reading you right now

I like to think of cultures as a harbor, open to others, and not as forts closed in on themselves. "I am because we are" is the African Ubuntu philosophy that states that we are only what we are through our relationships with others. Extrapolating from individuals to cultures, I like to study ours through its relationship with other cultures: since the pre-Celtic Lusitanian people, we are made of many others. I like this heritage, which is continuously changing.

WHAT PHRASE WOULD TAKE ON THE CHEST?
"Hoje não estou muito católica"
