Popular wisdom says that "the truth is like oil, it always comes up", because water and oil do not mix, but when it happens be careful ! When water and oil are mixed, bubbles of different sizes are created on the surface, hence the metaphor "I'm with the oils", which means being angry or in a bad mood.
The "being with the oils" reflects a lot of the Portuguese personality. First, because olive trees are part of the Portuguese scenario from north to south of the country, they are the ones who give us the olives for the production of olive oil and "thanks to that" we are one of the largest exporters of olive oil.
Second, because our cuisine does not live without oil and there is no Portuguese house that does not have a bottle of oil in the cupboard!
Third, and perhaps the most obvious, our characteristic Portuguese "temper"!
